George Richmond
Professor George Richmond is an Arque Corporation Biologist working in its Chemical R&D Department, and a major character in Estranged: Act I.
Background
His parents were both scientists, he was taught how to dissect frogs from an early age. He used to work in the computer labs in college to make money on the side.
He got interested in mycology and microbiology; he graduated from university with high honors.
George initially got a job at a fermentation plant. He was glad he got a job there but after a few months he wanted to move on to working back at the university he graduated from as a mycology lecturer. There he met his future wife whom he married four years.
He and his wife tried to have children but it was sadly not meant to be. The subject of which led to their divorce a few years later.
George tried to do his Ph.D. at the same university. His project fell apart after a student lit some of the rooms on fire in the university which caused a lot of damage to his research equipment.
After suffering from depression for a few months, George got a job offer from a private company named Arque. He was very thrilled to finally be able to practice mycology outside of the university and took the job on the spot.
Arque Corporation
At Arque he began research into dilutable drugs that could provide benefits to the population. After overseeing a series of successful tests he was moved to the Arque testing facilities on an undisclosed island.
Whilst there he continued his research, but after some time developed concerns about the management of certain teams in the facility, and their ethics.

Events of Estranged: Act I
When the Fisherman arrives at Arque West, he finds George being held in a cell.
George begs the fisherman to release him. After being released, he starts explaining fisherman what happened and leads him to a shooting range. They both head into laboratories where they find out that a generator is overheating.
The Fisherman is sent to log out of the terminal to prevent the generator from overheating, and causing a disaster. The Fisherman succeeds and heads to the communications room where he meets George again.
George is interrupted by the same pre-recorded message that interrupted John's message and remembers that there is a Satellite Station and it could be sent from there.
Suddendly two Arque Security Guards find George and Fisherman. Fisherman escapes unlike George who gets captured. One of the guards is then ordered to find the "other one" (alluding to the Fisherman).
Trivia
- George Richmond uses the same model as Dr. Isaac Kleiner from Half-Life 2 both are scientists and play an important role in their repective game.
